Install Windows 10

There are many reasons why you would need to install Windows 10, whether it be just upgrading from an older version of Windows such as Windows XP or perhaps just starting fresh with a fresh install of Windows due to computer viruses and etc. Regardless of the reason, here are 9 simple steps to do just that.

Here’s what you will need to install Windows 10:

  1. A bootable USB drive with windows installation media.

Step 1. Plug in the USB drive containing the windows installation media into your computer.

Step 2. Boot from the installation media by entering the boot menu, or entering the bios to change the boot priority.

Step 3.  Select your language, time and keyboard method. Then, click “next”.

Step 6. Select which edition you wish to install and click “next”. Do take note of the architecture, as 32 bit would be labelled as x86 while 64 bit would be labelled as x64. Selecting the appropriate architecture is absolutely important as correcting this mistake would require a complete fresh install of Windows again which is rather tedious.

Step 7. Check the box for “I accept the terms and conditions” and click “next”.

Step 9. Allow Windows to install- depending on the type of hard drive you have it may take anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour to complete. Once the process is complete, remove the USB drive from your computer before the computer restarts as it might boot back into the installation media again. Also, you might want to change the boot priority to the stock settings if you had changed it earlier. Other than that you have officially installed Windows 10 !
